Who is Great American Radon
Great American Radon, established in 2022, was founded in response to the serious health concerns caused by the extremely high radon levels found across Iowa—particularly in the northwest region. We recognized a real need for effective radon mitigation to protect the health and wellness of families in the Iowa Great Lakes and surrounding communities. As a veteran-owned, family-operated local business, we take pride in building strong, long-term relationships with our clients and we are committed to serving our neighbors with integrity, professionalism, and care.
Thaddeus Cook
Thaddeus was raised in North Central Iowa and began his service in the United States Air Force in 2001. Over the course of a distinguished 20-year military career, he developed extensive expertise in strategy, leadership, and operations before retiring and returning with his family to Milford, Iowa, in 2021 to be closer to relatives.
He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business from American Military University, with a minor in Pharmaceutical Technology and Human Resources. He also completed the Radon Mitigation and Measurement Course at Kansas State University and holds national certification through the National Radon Proficiency Program (NRPP) in Radon Measurement and Mitigation. In addition, he is certified by the Iowa Department of Public Health in both disciplines.
Drawing on his military leadership background and a lifelong foundation in construction and renovation—having worked alongside his father from an early age—Thaddeus combines technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a deep commitment to service. This unique blend drives his mission to protect families and communities from the health risks associated with radon exposure.
